New Star Wars Battlefront II trailer shows how much content it will have at launch

Shortly after revealing all of the iconic locations players will get to fight over in its Galactic Assault mode, Electronic Arts and DICE have now unveiled a new trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II which shows just how much more content it will offer at launch than its predecessor.

The trailer, which is narrated by actor John Boyega (Finn from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and this year’s upcoming film Star Wars: The Last Jedi) provides a detailed breakdown of the various ways in which Battlefront II will outshine the original Star Wars Battlefront. While the original Battlefront only featured four distinct Star Wars locations at launch, Battlefront II will have 18. Battlefront only had 11 different drivable vehicles at launch, Battlefront II will have a whopping 39. And lastly, Battlefront’s launch roster of playable heroes and villains was six, Battlefront II beats it yet again with 14.

DICE also seems to have learned the lesson that, in some cases, less is better than more, since Battlefront II will have five core multiplayer modes at launch (fans complained that the original Battlefront had too many modes, some of which felt unnecessary or tacked-on, thus diluting the full experience). Finally, the trailer revealed Battlefront’s II first two DLC heroes: Boyega’s own Finn, and the villainous Captain Phasma.

Star Wars Battlefront II will launch on November 17 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
