Splatoon 2’s new map comes with conditions

Nintendo has brought a brand new map to its recently released ink-shooter sequel Splatoon 2, but as you might expect given Nintendo’s odd, sometimes anti-consumer, tendencies, this new map comes with a catch.

More specifically, the map, which is titled ‘Shifty Station,’ won’t be available in the core rotation of multiplayer maps and will instead only be available during Splatoon 2’s Splatfest events. The silver lining is that Shifty Station will indeed live up to its name by having its layout shift for every new Splatfest, so those who participate in each Splatfest event will never play on the same version of Shifty Station twice.

Players also won’t have to wait long to give the first iteration of Shifty Station a try since Splatoon 2’s first Splatfest is set to begin tomorrow, August 4, at 9 p.m. PST (12 a.m. EST) and run for the following 24 hours.
