We Happy Few will officially launch in April 2018

Compulsion Games has announced the full retail release of its trippy survival game We Happy Few will officially launch a little under a year from now on April 13, 2018.

In We Happy Few, players must escape from the seemingly bright and sunny yet secretly dark and oppressive fictional British town of Wellington Wells, a place where the local denizens keep themselves in a perpetual happy fog thanks to a drug called Joy and punish those “downers” who refuse to take their Joy with deadly force. We Happy Few is currently available via Steam Early Access and the Xbox One Preview Program, and the full retail version will also be available on PlayStation 4.

Those who pre-order the retail version of We Happy Few will be treated to a few perks such as a 15 percent discount off the standard $59.99 price (at select retailers), the exclusive in-game ‘Jolly Brolly’ parasol weapon, and (for those who pre-order the PC version from select retailers) access to an early alpha version of the game. A special $149.99 collector’s set is also available, and it includes a number of physical We Happy Few-themed items, though it doesn’t include a copy of the game.

For the Xbox One Preview Program and Steam Early Access version of We Happy Few, Compulsion has also just released the ‘Life in Technicolor’ update, an update that includes an improved user interface, reworked AI, and more. Life in Technicolor will be the last major update before the retail release. You can watch a new trailer that commemorates We Happy Few’s upcoming retail release below.
